Topic: Interest Calculations - Ability to Enter Rates
Interest Calculations - Ability to Enter Rates [message #560] Wed, 03 March 2010 23:43
For the interest calculation function, can I suggest that something is addeed so that you can record somewhere the interest rates applicable over different dates. That is, you are able to record that from x/Jan/09 to y/Feb/09 the rate was x%. From y+1/Feb/09 to 4/March/09 the rate was y%. The purpose of this is so that, for long outstanding invoices (and having regard to interet rate volatility at the moment), I don't have to generate separate invoices for each interest period, and Silq calcuates the interest amount based upon what I have input in the interest table. That is, Silq, knowing the start and end dates for the interest invoice, works out for me based on the table how many days I have at each percentage rate, and then applies it to the invoice.

This issue has been known for quite some time and seems to only affect a handful of people.

Microsoft have published a detailed article about this that should help you resolve the issue.

Updating NSW Court Forms [message #296] Thu, 15 May 2008 17:18
A new set of court forms were adopted as of 1 January 2008. Will there be an update of the corresponding Silq forms to conform to these new court forms? If so, when? Thanks

There are 4 ways to enter your time entries.

First, you can go to the Day Book window, then click on the New button near the top right of the window. It will prompt you to select the Matter that the work was done for. Then at the bottom of the window you can enter the relevant details. Click Save to save the record, or Cancel to discard the record.

Secondly, you can enter a Time Entry through the Time & Billing window off the Matter table.
Go to the Matter window and select the Matter that you want to enter the time entry for, then click on the Time & Billing button. This will show you all of the Time Costing items for that Matter.
Then click on the New button near the top right of the window.
Then at the bottom of the window you can enter the relevant details. Click Save to save the record, or Cancel to discard the record.

Thirdly, you can use the Timer.
Go to the Matter window and select the Matter that you are doing work for. Click on the Timer button at the bottom of the window. Click on the Start button to start the Timer. It will time the action and when you are finished click the Stop button and then at the bottom of the window you can enter the relevant details. Click Save to save the record, or Cancel to discard the record.

Fourthly you can create Time Entries from Diary entries on the Diary window. It will show you entries that have been marked as Billable and been attached to a matter. You can then create a Time Entry for each one if you want to.
